The FIREFLY® Roof Cavity Closer – Chamfered is a fire-tested roof void closing solution, purpose-designed to accommodate pitched roof geometries where a standard square-edge closer is unsuitable. Manufactured from FIREFLY® FB180 Ablative Batt with a factory-bonded intumescent graphite strip, it provides certified fire compartmentation at roof eaves and gable interfaces.
The chamfered profile allows close contact with angled roof constructions, ensuring consistent void closure between the roof membrane and outer tiles or sheeting. When exposed to fire, the graphite strip expands to seal remaining gaps, preventing fire and smoke spread through roof-level voids.
Installed below the membrane, the chamfered Roof Cavity Closer eliminates the need to remove tiles or disrupt waterproofing, making it ideal for both new-build and retrofit projects. It supports compliance with Building Regulation Part B and removes the requirement for a 1500mm-wide protected “umbrella zone” at compartment lines.
