The FirePro Plus Intumescent Downlight Cover provides high-performance fire protection for recessed downlights, reinstating the fire rating of ceilings compromised by ceiling cut-outs. Independently tested to BS 476: Part 23:1987, it offers up to 2 hours fire resistance, effectively sealing the ceiling penetration in the event of a fire.
Made from advanced intumescent material, the cover is ventilated to allow heat from the lamp to disperse during normal operation, preventing premature lamp failure and overheating. When exposed to high temperatures, the intumescent layer expands rapidly to close off the downlight and vent holes, preventing the spread of fire and smoke.
This lightweight, conical design is suitable for suspended, plasterboard, and concrete ceilings, and can be fitted from above or below without screws, drilling, or additional supports.
