50mm Fire-Rated Ablative Batt for Penetration Seals and Difficult Installations
The FIREFLY® FB180 Ablative Batt – 50mm is a high-density, coated mineral fibre board designed to provide enhanced fire integrity in restricted or complex installation zones. Used in conjunction with FIREFLY® flexible fire barriers, it ensures compartmentation integrity where penetrations, I-beams, roof profiles, or tight eaves create challenges.
Constructed from layered mineral wool with an ablative coating applied to both sides, the batt is certified to BS EN 1363-1:2020 and BS EN 1366-3:2021, and is suitable for vertical and horizontal applications—including in timber roof trusses and metal platforms. With a density of 180kg/m³, the batt is robust and friction-fitted for convenient, tool-free installation.
